Agility Video Service's mission is to serve the serious dog agility competitor. Providing you with the video tools you need to stay ahead of the competition.

New video sizes and pricing.

Effective Christmas 2008 the "standard" video on Agility Video Service will be 640x360 resolution and will play on the iPhone, iPods, and Apple TV. Price will be $6/video.

High Definition option of 1280x720 resolution videos in addition to uploading the "standard" video. These videos will only play on a newer computer and I believe a PlayStation 3 or XBox 360 (this is untested). Price is $8/video.

The above prices are cash prices. For a number of reasons I have to start charging $1 extra per video for credit card payments. This means I'm going to keep better track of how many videos I get of each dog.

Secure Payment is online

Finally I got the new shopping cart system up and running so you can pay for your videos and in the future purchase DVDs. There are three payment options, credit card, google checkout, and paypal.

AVS Update Jan 5, 2009

It's a new year! And the first videos of 2009 are now online http://www.agilityvideoservice.com/dog-agility-videos-09-01-01
There are two version of each video, a regular one that also plays on iphone and ipod and a high definition version. The HD videos are a new feature I'm offering. The last two weeks I've just included them with every order, but from now they are an extra $2/run. Very soon I will be demonstrating a very easy way for you to play these HD videos on your big fat HDTV. The HD videos are only guaranteed to be online for one month, so be sure to download yours before they expire.

Also I missed more than the usual number of runs this weekend and had a fair number of late starts (meaning I missed the first few obstacles). This was mainly due to the large number of new dogs that signed up for videos and the fact that I was so far away from the rings, it was hard to keep track of when people were going. And there is a 4 second lag from when I turn the camera on and when it is ready to start recording, and in agility 4 seconds can seem like an eternity.

So if I missed more than the first 4 obstacles I'll give you one full credit for the video, and if I you have two videos that are missing 4 or less obstacles than I'll give you one full credit. And if I missed your run all together, then obviously you have a credit the next time I see you.

AVS Update December 31, 2008

Happy New Year. I wish everyone many awesome runs in 2009.

There are 3 different version of each video from this past weekend. The regular one, a high definition version that ends in "-hd", and an iPhone optimized version ending in "-ip". The "-ip" is also good for people with slow computer or internet connections.

The videos from Dec 26-28 AKC show at Pomona are online.

You will notice that there is a two versions of each video. A standard and high definition video. This weekend and next weekend I'm doing this for free. After that getting the high definition video is optional and costs $2 extra per run. I'm sure a lot of older computers will not play the HD videos.
The standard definition videos will synch with your iPhone or iPod. I'm working on getting them to play through over the web on the iPhone.

I used a new camera this weekend for the first time. I think the pictures are comparable to the old camera. The main advantage of the new camera is the hard drive it records to instead of tape. Providing a faster workflow resulting in you getting your videos sooner.

I'm moving stuff around so my sites might be offline for the next couple days.

AVS Update Nov 4, 2008

Not much going on here. Except that Wester Digital just released a $99 USB HD Media Player. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8993217&type=product&id=12...
Basically what this means is you can take your videos, put them on a portable usb drive, plug it into the above product and it will play on your TV. So much for needing DVDs anymore. And at $99 seems like awesome deal, even better than Apple TV in some ways and a lot cheaper. Includes a remote too.
